Skellig Michael Boat Trips
It’s that time of year again. 2022 has officially begun and people are beginning to make their holiday plans! Everyone is organizing their Summer holidays – looking for fresh new places to visit, activities to explore and trying to choose the best location to visit. Why not book a tour to Skellig Michael this year?! Many people seem to be under the impression that the landing tours are booked 1-2 years in advance. I can assure you this is not the case! There is still plenty availability for the Skellig Michael Landing Tours however we do recommend booking this earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment.
2020 saw the island remain closed for the year due to the pandemic and we were delighted to welcome landing tours back for the 2021 season. We are looking forward to resuming our Skellig Michael Landing Tours again this year and allow our visitors to discover the magical story of Skellig Michael.
The most popular question people ask is- what time of year should I visit Skelligs if I want to see the puffins? We recommend visiting anytime from mid-June to early August as this is when the island is full of the orange beaked bird. Landing tours are not permitted to children under 10 years of age and therefore if you wish to take your little ones to see these islands, we highly recommend booking our Skellig Michael Sea Cruise which will give you up close views of the incredible islands while remaining seated on the boat. The beauty of this tour is it is a lot more flexible and departs at different times throughout the day. We also have a variety of rates on offer for this tour which as always will automatically include our Visitor Experience at no extra cost if you book directly with us.
If you are not sure whether or not you wish to do a boat cruise or a landing tour, then we highly recommend exploring our Visitor Centre and watching our brief film presentation as this will give you an insight as to what is expected on the boat tours and can help you make your decision regarding your tour. The visitor centre is also perfect for those who don’t want to do a boat trip but still wish to learn the incredible story of Skellig Michael.
Make 2022 the year you discover the magic of Skelligs!
